La Jolla Torrey Pines Gliderport Headshots | Mark
As a San Diego headshot photographer, I love and only shoot headshots with natural light. I feel it is more appealing and connects more to the viewers than with flash. There are many other talented photographers who master flash and lighting, but I like to keep it simple with natural light. Whether it be outdoors in nature or indoor, I always find that natural light. In these La Jolla Torrey Pines Gliderport Headshots | Mark wanted a mix of formal headshots and more business casual lifestyle portraits for his company. I knew the perfect location that offered both ends of the spectrum that is one minute away from each other. Gold!
Shooting at multiple locations is always a fun time. Shooting at multiple locations that are super close to another is efficient! When there are too many changes and having to hop in the car and out, it can tire your client out. Try to find mini locations within one location. Have multiple outfit changes so it looks like it’s multiple shoots. Keep any eye out for which outfit should go with what location. You want to make sure the outfits match and pop.
Most likely there will not be any changing locations. Make sure your client is comfortable with changing in the car or somewhere nearby. Some locations do not offer a bathroom or changing location. It is important you let your clients know the lay of the land before the shoot. You want them as calm, cool and comfortable as possible. Especially when photographing headshots where it is all about the expression.
An easy tip is to have the bottoms be very simple and basic and focus on changing the tops. Tops, for the most part, are pretty easy to change out of. This also helps the session go faster if there are multiple outfits and you are tight on time. Most importantly is to makes sure your client is having a great time and feels confident! I have to give a shoutout to VUORI clothing brand! Such buttery men’s t-shirts. Mark is wearing Vuori t-shirts and they were super soft and had great colors!
