La Jolla Scripps Beach Surprise Engagement Photos | Hannah + Jared
As a San Diego engagement photographer, I also get inquiries for a proposal shoot. It is very fun to help your client with the planning and details. Especially when they are from out of town, you want to make sure you do either a FaceTime call or a video of the location to make sure the are well informed. You want this to be as smooth as possible for them. He or she will be with high nerves cause they are nervous, so the more you can prep for them the better. In this La Jolla Scripps Beach Surprise Engagement Photos | Hannah + Jared, I was surprised!

The groom pulled me aside for a quick second, while his girlfriend was getting her shoes, and he informed me that he was going to propose! Just like that, on the spot. I immediately said, I got you! I will find a spot next and then have her face one direction for you set up and go down on one knee. I chose the pier, as we were heading that way and waited a second to make sure she would look north west. Then I said ok turn towards Jared. Boy was she surprised when she did!

As a photographer, it is so important to be able to think fast and be on your feet. When something unexpected happens, it’s important to stay calm and relaxed. This will allow for you to come up with a quick plan and execute it flawlessly. Sometimes you don’t get that prep time, but because you have the experience, you will prevail.

There was wardrobe prep. Hannah had sent me some of her looks and I gave her feedback. I can never say no to a red dress! Its was overcast during the session, so the red really popped! Whenever you have a blue or green backdrop, I always believe red is the way to go!
