As a San Diego engagement photographer, it’s alway fun to see the love and excitement from the couple. For the most part, couples only have phone photos of themselves. Booking an engagement photo session is a great way to share professional photos of the couple. In addition, an engagement session helps prepare both the photographer and the couple for the wedding day. In these La Jolla Scripps Beach Engagement Photos | Eren + Jayant were excited to have their engagement photos at a beach that has great meaning for them.
Even though it was overcast, thank you May gray, their love still shined through! The tide was a bit on the high side, but we were able to manage. Luckily, there is still this rock that is exposed during high tide. That might change during the summer, but for the rest of the year it’s exposed. So in case you aren’t able to access the north side of Scripps Beach during low tide, you can utilize this rock to make it look like the other reefs.
It’s always a nice idea to ask your clients if they want feedback on their outfits. This is a good way to see if any of the looks might clash with the backdrop or with each other. You can always suggest colors, or styles of clothing. I love suggesting long maxi dresses. They serve like a great prop. You can swish the dress around and create movement. Great for candid shots!
When shooting in the water, ask your clients if they are ok to get their feet wet. If they are, which is great, I would suggest your client roll up their pant leg to avoid getting it wet. While on the subject, I would also suggest having them wear dark colored jeans/pants in case they get wet. It’s less obvious than if they were were beige or light color.
