La Jolla Scripps Beach Couple Photos | X + G
As a San Diego portrait photographer, I love when pets get included in the session! They are definitely part of the family and if the clients feel comfortable they should definitely be in the shoot! In this La Jolla Scripps Beach Couple Photos | X + G, brought their 2 dogs with them. It was great to see them again, I had shot their wedding last year at Mission de Basilica and Balboa Park. We actually had their dogs in that session too! If possible, it’s great to have a handler for your pets.
With the winter low tides, there is so much space to walk. This is great for brining pets as they are free to roam around. This is also helpful when there are a lot of people on the beach. It gives you more real estate to photograph in. Winter has less crowds, but there are still people getting their portraits taken. Especially in the fall for fall family portraits.
The weather was perfect, the lighting was magical. There were clouds on the horizon, so the sunset was earlier than expected. We lost that lush light quick, but we worked more of the blue hour. I don’t mind when there are some clouds in the sky, it helps diffuse the light a little. This is helpful when at the beach as you are totally out in the open.
When you have chance with the sun flares, take them! Don’t think that you can go back to it. I have learned to size photo opportunities when they occur. Especially when wanting sun flares, cloud can roll in quick! I had a session last week where within 10 min we went from sunshine to overcast moody fog! That’s what you get when you deal with micro climates.
