La Jolla Cove Beach Proposal Engagement Photos | C + B
As a La Jolla engagement photographer, I also get the opportunity to photograph proposals! Many San Diego proposals are from locals and others are destination proposals. Some couples choose to travel to San Diego and make it an opportunity to propose to their partner. Whether you are a local or a tourist, San Diego is a beautiful spot to get propose to! I love the coastline along La Jolla, as you have epic cliff and greenery backdrops! In these La Jolla Cove Beach Proposal Engagement Photos | C + B had an overcast evening with some moody, yet beautiful photos!

When photographing by the beach in the summertime, always be mindful of the high tide. High tides in the summertime are higher than winter high tides. So when photographing a proposal, you want to make sure that your couples aren’t in danger of a high tide splash! If you want to be extra careful, check the high tide the day or two before. So always pick a safer location to avoid any issues with not having enough sand or rock for them to walk on. Always get there early to double check too!

Besides the tide, you also want to stay on top of the weather. Ask your client if there is flexibility in their start time. Sometimes they have nothing planned before the proposal and they can start earlier and other time they cannot. It depends on what they have told their partner they are doing, or what they think they are going to do. If the weather looks like it’s going to be overcast, then it would be a good idea to start earlier, if the plan allows them to. You can always discuss this in the pre shoot call. Ask what they have told their partner they are doing and ask if there would be any wiggle room if needed.
