Imperial Beach Elopement Photos: Courtney + Roberto

Have you been dreaming of a beach elopement? How about having a destination wedding in San Diego! In this post, I share with you this romantic Imperial Beach elopement wedding. The sun just drenched Courtney + Roberto in magic hour love light!

The groom had family fly in from Peru for the wedding! They were excited to be toes in the sand for the wedding as they were coming from winter weather in Peru. I fell in love with the bride’s wedding bouquet. The flowers and wedding coordination is all from Dream Beach Wedding. They put you at ease and have everything run smoothly.

We did the family portraits after the ceremony as promptly as possible as I wanted Courtney and Roberto to be drenched in the dreamy magic hour light. It was just gorgeous!! He had the cutest little niece, with the most precious green eyes! Both the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom wore navy blue dresses. I like when moms match in similar color or design.

I started the formal portraits by the canopy as, like I mentioned earlier, I loved her florals! The color of the roses were so moody! So I wanted them to be lit up with the sun’s rays. Having a canopy, a tree or something that diffuses the sunlight when it’ bright is a very helpful tip. Until it gets to that magic hour light, it’s helpful so your subject isn’t as bright.

Then we headed down towards the water to get shots closer to the water and with the pier in the background. Then I wanted to finish the session with some palm trees in their background, so I had them start on the wooden ledge. I moved around to compose the shot to just isolate the couple in the sky and the palm trees.
