As a San Diego portrait photographer, I sometimes get asked to travel around Southern California. With Orange County and LA being a short drive away, it’s nice to have an extended market of clientele. Many clients like to shoot at their home, or others want to get a little creative and rent a studio space. The best places to look for cool locations is on PEERSPACE. If you want your kids to wear multiple outfits, then I suggest booking a longer photo session. Especially when working with little kids, you want to make sure you have extra time in case any tantrums come up. Kids will be kids, totally normal and expected. By having a longer session, you have time for them to recover and not have their eyes and face be all red too.
Speaking of tantrums, having treats and toys is always a great idea and tool for bribery! Be careful on what you choose for toys and treats though. For treats, it’s best to stay way from anything colorful or will leave crumbs. You don’t want their teeth and tongue to get stained, as well as the clothes. You want to avoid having crumbs around their mouth. Always carry wipes with you so you can wipe their mouths before you put them in front of the camera!
