Coronado Family Photos | T + J

As a San Diego family photographer, I love having the opportunity to call the beach my office! There are so many beautiful beaches here in San Diego and tourists are up to date on them. I get many tourists asking for family portraits at Coronado Beach, near the Hotel Del. The Del is such a famous hotel that attracts many people, it’s no wonder the beach does too. With its dune like white sands, greenery and beautiful backdrop view of the Del, it’s certainly a winner. Also, you never have to worry about high tide at Coronado beach because there is so much sand. In these Coronado Family Photos | T + J, shared a fun evening mixed with sunshine and rain drizzle!

When preparing for your beach family portrait session, choosing your outfits ahead of time will save you lots of time and stress the day of the shoot. Not only could you lay out the outfits so you can see if they go well together, but I would take the next step and having everyone try on their outfits so you can also see how they fit. You don’t want to pick something out for your toddler, only to find it fits him or her too big or too small! So the week off, dedicate some time to that. Hair. If you are having your session at the beach, there is a very strong probability your hair will frizz up a bit. So if you plan on curling your hair, keep it under wraps until the last second you hit the beach.

If your family consists of babies or toddlers, work around their nap schedule. Choose a time where you know they are the happiest. Doesn’t matter how good the light is, if your baby or little one is having a melt down. Usually the mornings seem to be the most popular with young ones.
