Coronado Beach Proposal Engagement Photos | D + A

As a San Diego proposal photographer, I love seeing the excitement among couples when they get engaged! Even when a person is expecting it, shock and joy still overwhelms them as they smile from ear to ear! Proposals are done however you want them to be done and whatever feels right to you as a couple. Some marriage proposals are done locally, others are done while on vacation. Some are done with a picnic or some event happening, others are celebrated just by the two of you. There is no right or wrong way to propose. It’s whatever your heart feels is right. In these Coronado Beach Proposal Engagement Photos | D + A, were on vacation and enjoying a pop up picnic booked via AirBnB experiences.

When doing a destination proposal without an event going on along with it, definitely ask your photographer for suggestions on location, time of day and day of the week. If you have a set event going on, then there is a little less wiggle room. San Diego, as a proposal destination, the beach is the main attraction. Trust me, that is enough! There are all different types of beaches in San Diego, rocky ones, sandy ones, cliff ones, etc. Let your photographer know your vision and they can help guide you. Also take into consideration your partner and the most likely outcome of what they would wear and beach that they would like.

It can get tricky to make sure your partner is ready to go at the time of the session. I always suggest you say you have dinner reservations. This makes sure they are dressed up and ready for the camera. You then say that there is a cool spot the restaurant suggested since you are from out of town with a view that you should see before dinner and that is how you convince them to go down to the beach. As they are dressed up, likely they are in heels or nice shoes. Just suggest that they remove them before hitting the sand. Before you propose though, just make sure they are out of sight.
