Balboa Park Elopement Photos | T + L

As a San Diego elopement photographer, I get many couples wanting to have a San Diego beach elopement or a San Diego civil wedding. Both are great options and both can be done in conjunction. You can always have your San Diego civil wedding and then head to the beach afterwards for your wedding photos. Other couples love the architecture and greenery that Balboa Park has to offer. The choice is yours and we are so lucky we live in a city or that you can visit a city that has so much diversity in backdrops! In these Balboa Park Elopement Photos | T + L opted for the Old European feel that you feel in the architecture and gardens of the park.

Balboa Park does it up for the holidays, so you will find red ribbons along their lamps on the ramp that unites 6th ave and the Museum of Us. Weekdays are definitely better to have your elopement as there are less people visiting the park. Either way, your photographer can find the right spots and when needed, can photoshop any crowds out of the photo. But when you want to take that shot on the street with the tower behind you, it’s a lot easier when there are less cards.

If you choose Balboa Park as your location, make sure your shoes are comfortable! Or bring a pair or slip ons so you can put them on when walking around. There is a LOT of ground to cover at the park. It could take you all day to get to the entire park. It’s a good idea to meet with your photographer ahead of time, if you can, to pick your favorite spots. This way you can be strategic with time and distances. The last thing you want is to have aching feet!
