UCSD Grad Portraits | PT

As a UCSD grad portrait photographer, I love when students also choose to add Scripps Beach to their session. UCSD and Scripps Beach go hand in hand. Don’t feel the need to do both. Some students just stay on camps and shoot around Geisel Library and other students just choose the beach. Whichever feels right to you and resonates with you. Should you choose both locations, you want to make sure you have ample time for both. So choose a package that gives you enough time at each spot. You can even have a beach outfit and a campus outfit. If your session starts at the beach first (morning sessions), make sure to bring a towel to wipe off your feet before you put your shoes on for campus photos. In these UCSD Grad Portraits | PT, we did a sunset session on the beach only.

Some grad sessions can have windy mornings or sunsets. To avoid all the twisting and moving of the stoles, it finally occurred to me to use double stick tape! This also helps and prevents your stoles from moving up and down too. It’s annoying to have to tug at one side to make sure it’s even. Of course when wearing multiple stoles, make sure the tape is removed so it doesn’t show up afterwards. Plan accordingly and make sure to have plenty of tape.

As you have seen in my latest posts. Female grads tend to wear white dresses. Feel free to follow tradition (is it a tradition?) or wear whatever color you feel suits you best. No need to feel obligated to wear anything you don’t want to. This is your session! As far as cap and gowns go. You can wear the whole ensemble or just parts of it. Again your choice. We can do all different types of variations. The one thing I do is ask, is that you steam everything! 😉
