Mission Trails Family Photos | A + J

As a San Diego family photographer, I am lucky enough to photograph families in such diverse backdrops! Whether it’s the beach, the park, downtown, so many options to choose from! Yes, most families opt for the beach, but there is also a nature side to San Diego! It offers boulders, hills and mountains, and lots of greenery! Near the Mission Trails, in Santee, there is a perfect backdrop for your nature cravings! Its highlight is definitely during the spring time where tons of flowers bloom! Even in the fall and winter though, it’s still nice to venture out in! In these Mission Trails Family Photos | A + J, they got to enjoy their session with their toddler!

Some of the “hiking” can get steep, but depending on everyone’s level, we can adjust accordingly. There are definitely flat grounds and paths we can take to make it easy. As you can see, A was able to walk in her heels the entire time. I wouldn’t recommend it! I would certainly bring back up shoes if you are wanting to wear heels. Better to avoid any potential falls! Especially if you are chasing a little one around! It’s a good idea to bring some water too and snacks for your little one too!

When booking your session, and you have young toddlers and babies, definitely pick a time where you know they are in a good mood. If you choose close to bedtime, you are going to get a grumpy kid, for the most part. Mornings seem to fair better withe the younger crowd. If that is the case, the session will start early to avoid the strong sunlight. So have everything prepared in advance, the outfits, snacks, shoes! Make sure to wait to put your little one in their photo outfit, until you actually arrive to the session. If you are feeding them snacks on the way, then they might spill some crumbs!
