San Diego Courthouse Wedding Photos | R + J

As a San Diego courthouse wedding photographer, I saw a lot of couples finishing and starting the year off with their San Diego civil wedding! Those winter sunset are something special! When you book your marriage license in the winter time, you can have a sunset happen right in the middle of your ceremony! I personally would prefer to photograph your couple photos during that time, but it does make for some beautiful ceremony shots! In these San Diego Courthouse Wedding Photos | R + J, were joined by a nice group of friends and family to celebrate their I DOs! Even had some fun with bubbles from the flower girls!

This San Diego civil wedding is a great example of brining in “traditional’ wedding activities. The bride had the flower girls and ring bearer walk down the aisle, before she was walked down the aisle by her parents. Had they wanted to say their own vows they could have too, but they opted out. So if there are traditional elements you want to bring into your courthouse wedding, do let your photographer and the officiant know. It’s not always 100% guaranteed but definitely worth asking!

Another, more recent, tradition you can bring over is the “First Look”. If you want to have the first time you see your partner, be photographed, make sure to arrive to the county administrator office at least fifteen minutes before your ceremony time. Let your photographer know ahed of time so they can designate the first look location. I would even go so far as to recommend doing your friends and family photos right after that as well. Especially if your ceremony time is booked closely to sunset time, or you have a second location. It helps to have that portion taken care of. Sometimes the office can run a little late on your ceremony time. It’s hard to predict.
