As a San Diego courthouse wedding photographer, we stay busy all year long! San Diego has such great weather that it makes anytime of the year a great time to have your San Diego civil wedding! Another bonus is its proximity to a variety of backdrops like the marina or Balboa Park! Recently, the botanical garden was remodeled and we can enjoy using it as a backdrop to couple photos and even go inside too (during working hours of course). There is no admission fee, you can walk in and out as you please. With summer in full swing, I can imagine it’s jam packed, but this San Diego Courthouse Wedding Photos | J+J took place in the winter time and we did ok with the crowds.
If you are hoping for a summer civil wedding, now is the time to book your marriage license appointment with the San Diego County administrator building. You can only book your ceremony appointment within 45 days of the desired date. Everybody in that office is super nice and helpful! If you have any questions ahead of time, feel free to call them and they are happy to answer any concerns. Everybody is excited on this eventful moment! Definitely a more stress free event when doing a civil wedding rather than a full day traditional wedding.
Some summer tips for your courthouse wedding include but are not limited to: HYDRATION! Drink lots of water! It can get pretty hot, especially in August. Make sure to hydrate the day of and the days leading up to the wedding. While on the topic of heat, wear sunscreen! Not only on day of, but also days before. You don’t want a sunburn as an accessory! Especially for June weddings, just cause it’s overcast, that doesn’t man the sun isn’t there.
