WEDDING photos: Coronado Beach

Coronado is a beautiful part of San Diego that offers beaches, restaurants, homes and of course a stunning venue for a wedding! I got to shoot this beautiful Coronado Beach Wedding this past weekend! It was a destination wedding, the bride and groom are from Dallas, TX. They were definitely excited to be getting married on the beach! They were smiling from the beginning!

The guest count was a little over 40, which is a great size to really enjoy the time with your guests. You don’t have to rush and speak 2 min to each person, you can actually hug and laugh and carry on conversations.

The palm trees, the rocks, the sand, the ocean, Coronado is an ideal city to have your beach wedding. Dream Beach Wedding is perfect at organizing it! They will make your wedding day effortless and stress free!

Can we talk about the beautiful embroidered wedding dress! It had just a little bit of a train to give it that princess feel. The details of the embroidery photographed beautifully! These two were all about fashion and style! I love it when grooms where bowties! So fun!

I was very grateful for the sunshine that day as the May gray has been in effect lately! Also rain! Fortunately, the sun shined on all day for them! Funny enough it was pouring rain in Dallas.

I loved the different pink hues that the bride’s friends wore. Pink is a color I always suggest to people when I shoot their engagement photos or family photos; especially at the beach! It’s a soft color that photographs well.

To the photographers reading this, here’s a little photo tip. My clients had requested a photo where their little boy holds the “just married” sign and they stand in the background. When we started doing the portraits, and the guests were leaving I asked them about this photo request. They saw that their boy was already leaving with the rest of the family and not to worry. I insisted and they said that it was ok cause he was getting fussy and probably wouldn’t cooperate. I had to insist one more time, because I know they really wanted that photo. I told them better to bring their son and he reject the pose than never to have the opportunity to pose at all. So we called him over and though he didn’t smile 100%, we still got the shot they wanted. Sometimes you have to assess when it’s ok to push something just one more time and when to leave things be.
