Downtown San Diego Engagement Photos | Glexi + Nick

This Downtown San Diego Engagement shoot was definitely worth waking up early for! As a San Diego Engagement Photographer, I normally shoot at the beach or a forest type area, so I was excited for this San Diego engagement photos |Glexi + Nick, to be in the couples home and East Village neighborhood in Downtown San Diego! They wanted to incorporate the local murals and San Diego Trolley.

I love when there is a story about a photo session. That is something I always try to create and tell through my photo session. When choosing a location with my client, whether it’s an engagement session, a San Diego family photo session, and even a San Diego personal branding session, I always ask if there are certain locations that have meaning to them.

I always like to offer wardrobe consultation should my clients wish to have any. It’s beneficial for both parties. As San Diego photographers, we learn overtime what type of clothing photographs well and what doesn’t. So by asking your clients what they plan on wearing you can prevent them from wearing anything that might take away from the photo or make it too noisy!

With that being said though, you always want to emphasize that they wear something they feel confident and comfortable in! It will show in the photos if they feel uneasy or self conscious. So whether it’s clothing or shoes, make sure they feel great in it! Nothing better than a confident smile!

Props are always a fun accessory to any photoshoot! It turns the session into a more lifestyle feel. Like you happen to catch them in their daily routine or everyday life. Before the session, Glexi and I discussed their home activities, what they like to do and we incorporated that into the engagement session.
